The Cairngorms, August 27, 2014 |
The sun shone, the air was warm, buzzards wheeled in the sky mewing loudly, a roe deer paused in a meadow to watch me pass, rabbits scurried for cover, a wood pigeon flapped loudly out of the trees, purple-blue devil's bit scabious and white eyebright poked out of the long lush grasses, pheasants scuttled for cover, the distant mountains were etched hard against the sky. After days of rain summer had returned to the Cairngorms.
Dear Mr Townsend.
ReplyDeleteI would like to complain that when I visited the Cairngorms last weekend they were very much not as your brochure states!
With wind chill it was -5 on cairngorm summit.
Still enjoyed it though.
